Quality of air in the clinical embryology laboratory is considered critical for high in vitro fertilization (IVF) success rates. Without the purest air, IVF laboratories may frequently experience unidentified drops in pregnancy rates. We are very concerned about microbial contamination of embryo cultures, but we are even more concerned about air pollutants that can contaminate the laboratory. Research has confirmed that air pollutants such as exhaust fumes from cars and industries in urban traffic areas can decrease pregnancy outcomes in IVF because these pollutants are highly toxic to embryos. Lighting system

Special lighting system prevent embryo damage

At Beloved Fertility Center, we use a special lighting system to prevent embryo damage and promote physiologic growth. One study has found that exposure to the cool-white fluorescent lighting commonly used in fertility clinics, research labs, and most office environments could be particularly damaging to an embryo’s healthy development. Sunlight and cool-white fluorescent office light, which is blue-white in appearance, were the most detrimental to mice embryo development, while warm-white light, which is typically used to illuminate homes and residential environments and has a yellow-white color, was significantly less damaging. Primo Vision™ – Time-lapse embryo monitoring system as “embryo culture under a microscope”

Now, the embryologist is able to watch and assess the development of each and every single embryo in the incubator through a monitor attached to the incubator as well as real-time video streaming on mobile devices. After fertilization, the cells are placed in an incubator equipped with a microscope-camera system. As a result, their development is constantly monitored, with the camera taking pictures every five minutes. The current state of the culture is visible on the monitor. Embryos remain undisturbed in the incubator until the day of embryo transfer. Read more

RI electronic witness to prevent sample mismatch between couples

Beloved Fertility Center uses RI Witness to lock your identity to your eggs, embryos, and sperm.  This new technology reduces the risk of IVF laboratory mistakes by electronically identifying sperm, eggs, and other materials for each patient by using ID chips that lock onto every Petri dish or test tube containing your sample at every stage of the IVF process, to prevent the mixing up of patient identities. The system halts progress if mismatched samples are identified before a mistake can be made. This electronic witnessing system offers patients increased confidence that their samples are safe and will not be mixed up at any time during treatment. Read more

IMSI system for choosing the best sperm

Leica DMI 6000B

Our IVF laboratory is fully equipped with a microscopic Leica microsystem, model Leica DMI 6000, that is the first and only fully setting system in Thailand for magnifying the sperm in detail at least 6000 times for choosing the best sperm for ICSI (intracytoplasmic morphologically selected sperm injection, IMSI). This highly-magnified view enables us to identify subtle sperm defects that are not visible with a conventional ICSI microscope. Read more
